Having Heart Issues That Don’t Make Sense?

16 July 2009 87 views One Comment

Went to MD because I had dry cough for 2 months. This lead to chest x-ray, echo of heart and stress test. No history of high BP, lab tests normal, not diabetic. Echo showed decreased LV systolic function, EF of 45-50%, abnormal LV diastolic filling, etc. Stress showed irreversible ischemia to anterior wall of LV, resting LV EF is 54% down from 67% in 2003. They said it looked like I might have already had a heart attack and refer to weak heart muscle. News to me. Now scheduled for cardiac CT. Except for doing tests doctor has not put on any meds, no restrictions, nothing and have not given my a diagnosis. I feel time a walking time bomb. Anyone else go through something like this.

Besides putting you on some blood thinners and cholesterol medication, there is not much he can do until the results from the CT.
This is a very good step towards finding obstructive disease and how your coronary arteries are doing overall.
Taking a baby aspirin a day, with or without your doctor’s advice, is not a bad idea. Unless there are bleeding issues or you are hemophiliac. Talk to your doctor.
