okay what is going on with my body?
im 14, 5ft 5in, and weigh 115lbs, i’m thin and healthy
but within the last year i have noticed these really annoying symptoms including:
1. drinking a lot
2. urinating a lot because i’m drinking a lot
3. feeling sick after i drink tap or bottled water
4. waking up to urinate
this ONLY happens when i drink water, when i drink juice or soda this DOESNT happen its so weird and its really hard to explain. my blood pressure is always normal (my moms a nurse so she can tell) and when i go to the doctor for physicals i always hear good news from the doctor. is this diabetes i really need to know because i’m starting to get really scared i’ve seen what diabetics go through and i don’t want to go through it, its such a horrible condition.
so please any doctors/nurses/ or diabetics out there that have any information PLEASE let me know!
oh and also these symptoms DONT happen in school only when im at home laying down on the couch

You and your mom should not waste one more month .You should go straight to the doc and have your blood glucose tested.
The earlier you are diagnosed the better it is.Nip the evil in the bud before the diabetes cause some severe complications in your body as diabetes is such a chronic disease that most of the time it remains un diagnosed due to lack of knowledge.

Fluid retention could be involved, and when you lay on the couch or your bed, the excess fluid in your feet and legs has to go somewhere. These are all symptoms of diabetes.
You should write down all your symptoms and ask your doctor for a glucose tolerance test, and an Hba1c test.
I would not wait one month. Delaying the diagnosis of diabetes only leads to more damage to your body.
If you have those tests done you’ll know for sure. Don’t settle for anything less.

actually if you keep drinking the soda and juice it could be a maybe because one time i got dehydrated and drank koolaid and i just kept drinking it and my mom had to check my blood because she was diabetic and she felt it was a symptom so my advice is that you go to a doctor and get ur blood and urine tested, if there’s sugar in it then you do.

My mother and my brother are diabetic, and my brother didn’t even know he was diabetic until he was hospitalized for dehydration.
Maybe you should set up a doctor’s appointment just to be sure.

You said your mom was a nurse. What did she say about this? Kids, please talk to your parents! They were your age once, and have been through a lot of the same things. Most parents love their kids, and wouldn’t want them to have all of these fears and worries.

just to be safe, get it checked out. it could be nothing, but it could also be something.

of course when you drink water you are going to urinate more. It is normal for the human female to empty her bladder every two hours, so if you aren’t going every fifteen minutes or so, I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

well thats what i was doin before i was diagnosed with type 1 almost a year ago. the best way to tell would be drink a soda then 15 min later check blood sugar. if u are your blood sugar should be well over normal. i am 17 and yeah diabetes sucks espessially when u have lived so long eating want u want. but u get use to it. right now i only take 1 shot a day but its still annoying. but it would be better not to wait a month, if u are in a month u could go into a diabetic coma which = not good.
