My brother, sister-in-law & nephew have a diabetic cat. When I take care of my nephew I also take care of their cat. Sometimes when my nephew and I are out we get back 15 min to 30 min late for for the cat’s 1:00 feeding. Last time I actually got back an hour late.
Is this bothering the cat or not? It’s hard to tell with him, since he just lays around all day, and sleeps.

Assuming you’re only talking about vegetables and maybe fruit. Yes? but this sounds like a serious question which should be directed at your doctor. I think that it is a healthier lifestyle excluding meat but there can be complications that arise from not eating meat like anemia etc. So there is a lot to be accounted for especially if you’re a diabetic. Cooking veggies strips it of its nutrients sometimes. You should also consider organic veggies! Good luck

i havent seen a nutritionist yet so they can probably answer these question better for me.
when i go grocery shopping and im reading labels. im confused as to what is good and bad. what is too much sugar in a product? if something like orange juice says 22 grams of sugar is that bad? plus my doctor said to stay away from carbs and fried foods. what is a good amount of carbs in a product? are sweetners ok? im a coffee drinker and im use to loading my coffee …

I was recently diagnosed as diabetic, but just over the borderline point. Right now, just going on diet and exercise to control. How long do I have before I have to go on medication?

Yeah it’s ok. ima type 2 and just like one of the other people who commented you. Im addicted to diet coke too…lol. Its ok, cause it wont make your blood sugar level go up, but just like your first comment says ultmately it isnt the healthiest drink to drink. I work at whole foods market and if you really like something you can add to your drinks to make them sweeter and not feel guilty or worry….then try looking up a sugar sub called stevia!!

Eat whole foods (whole grains, fruits, vegetables), no meat, no refined foods. You don’t want to add fat just weight.

My orange and white stripped tabby cat (Toby) weighs 17 lbs. He is most certainly overweight At what weight would he have to be to be diabetic? I am really curious. We feed him diet food, and he does nothing but sleep and eat all day. He cannot help it.
